Lost in La Mancha

28/06/2006 I am not a terry gilliam fan
but after seeing Lost in La Mancha, I'm curious about the Don Quixote movie he wants to make.
The documentary is traditional, the subject a lively nightmare.
When doing the near impossible is your strategy, any obstacle can become a major disaster and your main actor might stay away out of fear. Unlike Martin Sheen returning to his boat in the Fillipinian jungle after a heart attack, Jean Rochefort never came back to his Spanish horse after his double hernia.

When he began shooting his equally impossible Apocalypse Now, Coppola was more than twenty years younger than Gilliam.
That probably helped.
