Fin de Semana: Hey!
... shouted a vulgar female voice with an American accent at my back while
I was taking this picture.
Meaning what: Don't make a picture of my kid's playground behind a quadruple
fence?
-I just couldn't resist the white shuttle with
'United States' on it-
The 'Naval base' at Rota is at least 10 km long and is supported by 6.000
US service members and their families, it has a massive 6,100 acre playground
for soldiers and some heavy airtrafic at night.
And that wasn't the only thing that woke me up, the Guardia bumped into
me on a hard to find beach
acces point. They got out of the car, used a heavy torch to find out if
there was somebody in my van or not, but they didn't knock, so I played
dead and they left.
East from the American soldiers, after some kilometers worth of Sevillaña's
holiday buildings you bump into the Puerto de Santa Maria, nice!
The endless -just try to walk it- naval pier offers a view on the Bahia
de Cadiz -Flamenco legend Camaron's home- and houses its own social scene
with laid back fishermen who just drive on and off on their scooters to
get fresh beer.
I go mine with 'un cuarto de gambas' at Romerijo.
