Cinquantenaire by Peter Mertens

08/09/2006 One day you see life in fuji color, the next in ilford b&w.

I'm starting to like this noisy park,
in which of course that great evil bastard had his hand.

The great evil one personally responsable for Belgium's dishonorable part
in the equally great tradition of exploiting people in some far away country to feed your own economy and treasury,
in total disrespect of existing culture, social structure and human life.
In this unknown country the great horny bastard never visited,
and which was his private property -later given to the state to disinherit his daughters-
people were simply exploited to death.
How many we don't really -want to- know,
but what we do know is that it is not half of the population,
as some historians write.

And with this rubbery bloodmoney
the great bearded bastard shaped important parts of Brussels.
Some enterily of stone, some very green,
but always with vision.
