I was ready for this movie as I'll ever be.
I was ready for Burt Lancaster as an aging pool obsessed.
I was ready when after a Buster Keaton running late and after some long barely audible speeches in two languages,
finally the open air screening of one of the rare copies of Frank Perry's The Swimmer started.
But within minutes, before Lancaster could even start his pool pilgrimage home,
the projector stalled - cheered by the audience like in those bad old school days.
Once,
twice,
three times.
Then the barely audible annoucer announced another 20 estimated minutes to solve the problem.
What happened in the next hour, I can not tell you.
