Water is a major issue In Spain.
Aznar had this great plan to simply deviate a main river hundreds of kilometers… and nowadays the debate on the (fiasco de la) ‘nueva cultura de aqua’ even reaches the music/arts only station Radio Tres (no news bulletins) -the best national music station I ever heard, with close to no playlist.
Perfect timing for this fine Tarifa story I found in Europasur:
in five months time more than 12.000.000 liters of agua potable leaked away into the river through a hole in the pipeline,
that’s 86.000 liters a day.
About the average daily consumption of more than 700 people.
And only 60 liters a minute.
But as the saying goes down here: no pasa nada.
